Why fire doors matter in a restaurant

Fire doors hold back fire and smoke long enough for people to get out. In restaurants, kitchen and back-of-house doors take constant knocks from trolleys and staff, and they’re often wedged open, which damages closers and seals. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 require these doors to be kept in good working order.
